Northwood JV defeats Graham in double OT

Pittsboro, NC - The Northwood high school JV boys basketball team put together an exciting, short-handed, 88-80 double overtime come from behind win over Graham at Friday night's home game. After trailing by double digits in the first half, the boys rallied to trail by only one, 34-33 at the half.

After Graham rallied late in regulation to force overtime, the JV Chargers took control from the outset of the 2nd overtime eventually pulling away for the thrilling double overtime victory. The turning point may have been an acrobatic over the head lay up made by Dalton Brown as he was fouled in the 2nd overtime. Brandon Williams scored 6 points in the second overtime, while Dylan Davis added 4 points in the 2nd OT. Jacobi Harris contributed 3 assists in the 2nd OT as well.

Dylan Davis led the way with 35 points, 5 rebounds, 4 steals, and 3 assists, including 6 3 pointers. Dalton Brown added 14 points and 5 rebounds, while Brandon Williams collected a double double with 12 points and 11 rebounds to go along with 3 assists. Trevor Ahkuoi scored 14 points and dished out 6 assists. Jacobi Harris dished out 5 assists as well. Jamal Baines also had a good game off the bench scoring 8 points and grabbing 6 rebounds.

The JV Boys improved to 7-2 in the conference and 9-3 overall. Congratulations to Coach Bean and the JV Boys Basketball team for their exciting win Friday.
