* Planning Board section of our Chatham Website is updated and expanded to allow more advance notice of proposals.
* Planning funds for upcoming school construction were approved 4-1, with Outz voting against
* Houses for sale: Chatham owns 3 small houses in the block behind our District Court/Office building. They would be too expensive to renovate as office space so we will try to sell them for removal vs. paying to have them demolished. Agreed, 5-0.
* Authorized up to $9,000 for new board recording and amplifying equipment and lapel microphones. Our current equipment is old, frequently breaks and parts and repairs are getting very difficult. If you've ever visited our meetings, you should appreciate this! Approved 5-0
* Transportation Improvement Plan was reviewed and approved 5-0.
* A financial consultant for capital projects will be contracted to assist with best loan practices. Approved 5-0
* Impact fees for apartment buildings/multifamily were adjusted from $500 up to $950 per unit. Approved 5-0
* Cell tower in Harper's Crossroads: we have gone from a guy wire tower to a more structurally sound lattice or pole tower. Additional information is being researched before a final decision. Harper's Crossroads will get a 911, police, cell tower as soon as possible -- surely this year.
* Progress Energy has requested to move a power line from the front to the rear of a county property. Approved 5-0.
* Water committee: bids for Silk Hope will be redone -- came in too high. Intakes and upgrades for our Jordan plant will go to planning stage. Approved 5-0.
* Recreation Advisory Committee: Mr. Allan Baddour, chair, presented an overview and ideas for budgeting 2005-06
