Carolina Hurricanes announce 2009 exhibition schedule

Raleigh, NC — Jason Karmanos, Vice President and Assistant General Manager for the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced the team’s four-game 2009 exhibition schedule.

The Hurricanes will open the preseason at the RBC Center on Friday, Sept. 18, at 7 p.m. against the Nashville Predators. Carolina will then travel to Atlanta on Monday, Sept. 21, for a 7 p.m. meeting with the Thrashers. The Hurricanes will finish their preseason schedule with back-to-back games, against Atlanta at the RBC Center on Sept. 25, and at Nashville’s Sommet Center on Sept. 26.

Carolina will open its 2009 NHL training camp in Raleigh on Sept. 12. Details on training camp, including dates and times of practices and other events, will be released closer to that date. The 2009-10 NHL regular season will open on Friday, Oct. 2. The league will release the schedules for all 30 teams on July 15.
