Anglers can fish any inland, public water in the state without having to purchase a state license or trout stamp on July 4, N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission announced last week. The fishing license waiver applies to North Carolina anglers as well as out-of-state angler, from 12:01 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. on Independence Day. All other fishing regulations apply, such as size and creel limits as well as bait and tackle restrictions.

For information about North Carolina's fishing regulations and seasons, pick up a copy of the Regulations Digest or visit the NC Wildlife Resources Commission or call the Wildlife Commission's Division of Inland Fisheries at 733-3633 for more information.
