Woods Charter varsity sports roundup

Pittsboro, NC - The Woods Charter High School boy's basketball team lost in an exciting match against CCAL rival Franklin Academy last Friday, January 14. The boys were down by ten in the fourth quarter, but managed to come back and tie the game with a couple of pressure free throws from sophomore Eric Tapp, sending it into overtime. Franklin took a two point lead in the final minute of overtime and won the game 52-48.

The boys had another close one on Tuesday, January 18 at home versus Emerson Waldorf School. The hard fought contest was decided in the last second, with Woods on top this time, 46-44. The team stands at 8-5 on the season.

On Monday, January 24, Woods hosts Kestrel Heights with a game time of 6 pm.

The Lady Wolves basketball team lost to a very talented Franklin squad on Friday, January 14. Despite the loss, the team played strong and did not give up. The final score was 48-21.

The girls' team hosts Kestrel Heights at home on January 24. Start time is 4:30 pm.
