Pittsboro, NC - The Northwood varsity girls soccer team tied Durham School of the Arts last night 1-1 in double overtime.

The first half ended in a 1-1 tie after a goal from the left wing by sophomore Alex Hallows which was assisted by senior Erin Walker. The game eventually ended in a 1-1 tie after a scoreless 2nd half and two overtimes. Great play was displayed on the part of both teams in a soccer match that was very physical and was played at a quick pace. Sophomore goalkeeper Sara McCall had seven saves. NHS had 15 shots on goal. Two well played headers by junior Casey Norris just missed the net. Freshmen Yancey Luft and Emily Brooks had outstanding matches along with sophomores Anna Elkins and Annie Cleaver. The defense was anchored by senior Danielle Suprick.

The next soccer match is this Wednesday at home vs Raleigh Charter.
