Pittsboro, NC - Here is a roundup of what happened in Northwood High School sports on April 20, 2010.

The Varsity Softball team defeated Carrboro, 19-3

The Lady Chargers scored 19 runs in the first inning to race to an easy victory. Carrie Webster earned the win on the mound for the Lady Chargers.

Padgett Harrington and Carrie Webster had three hits a piece for the Lady Chargers. Webster was 3 for 3 with three doubles and six RBIs. Webster also struck out four in two innings on the mound before being relieved by Chrissy Williams. Harrington connected on a double and contributed three RBIs. Lauren Oldham, Brandi Williams, Kendal Atwater, and Sierra Timmons added two hits a piece for the Lady Chargers. Lauren Glosson and Crystal Overcash each had one hit for the Lady Chargers.

The JV Baseball team defeated Carrboro, 12-2

Russ Smith got the win on the mound and Clark Streets pitched well in relief. At the plate, Jeremiah Jacobs lined a triple off the fence with the bases loaded for 3 RBIs. Chase Golden, Barrett Beasley, Clark Streets, Landis Barber, Dylan Stasko, Montgomery Kirby, and Robert Straughn each had at least one hit for the JV Chargers in the win.

Congratulations to the Lacrosse team for their victory over Kerr Academy, 10-6
