Pittsboro, NC - The Northwood Chargers came away with a 2-1 win in another heated contest at South Granville. South Granville took the early 1-0 lead with a goal at the fifteen minute mark. After a collision and warning from the center referess, a South Granville player was red carded for language with ten minutes remaining in the half.
With a man advantage Northwood controlled the match and scored off a Joey Suprick header with an assist from Nate Holst to tie the match. At the seventy five minute mark, Max Middleton was fouled hard in the box and Northwood was awarded a penalty kick that was converted by Connor Lawrence for the 2-1 win.
The Northwood JV soccer recorded a 5-0 win tonight at South Granville.
