Pittsboro, NC - The Northwood JV girls basketball team continued its early season success with a 45-31 victory over Carolina 9 Conference foe Cedar Ridge on Friday, January 8 at Northwood High School. Gabby Mehringer and Alexis Brower scored 12 points a piece to pace the JV Lady Chargers. Brower hit two three pointers in the third quarter when the Lady Chargers built a huge lead after only leading by nine at the half. Mehringer also led the team with four steals on the night.
Marquasa Blankley added six points and Tyler O'Dell added four points, with Alexyss Hedreick, Maria Vandeford, Tykeshia Alston, Britney Craven, and Dionna Bright also scoring on the night.
Marquasa Blankney led the team in rebounds with seven, while Tyler O'Dell added six rebounds, and Tykeisha Alston added five boards in the game.
The JV Lady Chargers do not play this week but return to action next Tuesday January 19 at Northwood versus Cary Academy.
