Northwood girls win Carolina 12 Basketball Tournament Championship

Pittsboro, NC — The Northwood girls basketball team won the Carolina 12 Tournament championship with a 56-40 win over Granville Central on Friday night.

Shelby Wolfe led Northwood with 24 points and 11 rebounds as the Chargers won their ninth straight game and beat Granville Central for the third time this season. Northwood (23-3) will take the conference’s top seed into the state playoffs, which begin next week.

Granville Central (19-7), which was led by Keena Evans with 13 points, will earned the No. 2 seed for the state playoffs.
