Pittsboro, NC - The Northwood girls soccer team finally put together a complete match and came away with a 2-1 victory over the NC School of Science and Math Tuesday night.
After falling behind 1-0 in the first five minutes the Chargers composed themselves and turned in a stellar performance with nice runs, good passes, good communication and an all around well played match. Casey Norris and Emily Brooks did a nice job in the midfield and worked well in tandem all night.
Alex Hallows scored off an assist from Annie Cleaver at the 15 minute mark to tie the game. Anna Elkins scored late in the match off an assist from Emily Brooks to ice the contest. Allie Gray had a better than average game as one of our backs and Kait Greenwood did a great job as one of the outside mids. Once again, the "D" of Suprick, Walker, Luft and McCaw were brilliant.
NCSSM came in with a record of 7-3 and ranked number five in the 1A state polls.
