Northwood girls soccer advances to second round with convincing win over Bunn, 11-0

Pittsboro, NC - The Lady Chargers opened state play on Tuesday with an 11-0 win over Bunn High School. Annie Cleaver and Casey Norris each scored a hat trick with three goals a piece. Gaby Mehringer, Hannah Lawrence, Darien Skinner, Kathryn Lloyd and Allie Gray scored one goal each.

Anna Elkins, Annie Cleaver and Emily Brooks had two assists each. Rebecca Moore, Casey Norris, April Gibbs, Darien Skinner and Hannah Lawrence had one each. Allison Gould and Silva Stout made their varsity debut and played well. The Lady Chargers possessed and moved the ball well all evening, taking 30 shots on goal.

NHS advances to the second round at Bartlett Yancey High School (19-1-1) probably Thursday night (TBA). Northwood improves to 14-1-2.
