Northwood Lady Chargers advance to second round of 2A basketball playoffs with 65-46 win over North Johnston

Pittsboro, NC - The Northwood varsity girls basketball team advanced to the second round of the 2A State Playoffs with a 65-46 victory over North Johnston on Monday night at Northwood High School. The Lady Chargers amassed a 30 point lead early in the fourth quarter and cruised to a huge victory.

Casey Norris and Kerri Snipes led the Lady Chargers with 14 points a piece. Norris added a team high seven steals, four rebounds, and three assists, while Snipes added a team high seven rebounds. Yancy Luft chipped in eight points, while Olivia Oakley contributed six points and five rebounds. Myiesha Alston came in off the bench and added a season high six points for the Lady Chargers.

Shelby Wolfe, Annie Cleaver, Breanna Greene, Brennan Allen, and Maggie Denny also scored for the Lady Chargers. Gaby Mehringer dished out two assists in her first varsity game for the Lady Chargers.
