Durham, NC - Here's a roundup of what happened in Northwood High School basketball on December 11, 2009.

Northwood varsity boys basketball overcome nemesis DSA 75-48

The Northwood varsity boys basketball team overcome Carolina 9 Conference nemesis DSA Friday night December 11, 2009 at DSA 75-48. The Chargers raced to a 36-20 halftime lead, and gradually increased that lead throughout the second half with all Chargers seeing significant playing time.

Ridge Smith, A.J. Farmer, and John Wieland all scored 6 points a piece in the second half blow out of DSA at a location that has been known to give the Chargers fits in the past. Harold Baldwin added 5 points in the second half, while Chris Forbes, Juan Young, Shannon Peppers, Ryan Seymour, Dylan Davis, and Joe Graybeal all scored in the second half for the Chargers. Ridge Smith dished out 5 assists in the second half alone for the Chargers, while Chris Forbes grabbed 5 rebounds in the second half.

With the win, the Chargers improved to 2-1, 2-0 in the Carolina 9 Conference for the season.

Northwood JV boys basketball improves to 2-0 with win at DSA

The Northwood JV boys defeated DSA, 70-54 at DSA.

Jamal Baines was the leading scorer with 26 points. Antonio Walker had 18 points, while Chris Smith added 10 points. With the win the JV boys improve to 2-0 on the season,
2-0 in the Carolina 9 Conference.

Northwood varsity girls rout DSA 54-20

The Varsity Girls defeated DSA 54-20 Friday night, December 11 in Durham.

Nine Lady Chargers scored led by Kerri Snipes with 10 points, Yancey Luft and Olivia Oakley scored 8 points, while Casey Norris, Shelby Wolfe, Annie Cleaver, and Brianna Greene all had 6 points a piece. Brennan Allen and Sam Perry had two points a piece for the Lady Chargers. With the win, the Lady Chargers improved to 1-2 on the season, 1-1 in the Carolina 9 Conference.
