Pittsboro, NC - The Northwood High School varsity girls' basketball team defeated the Lady Cavaliers of Burlington Cummings, 69-57, on Senior Night on Thursday night.

Seniors Kapreshia Covington, Rashmi Vanhook, Sabrina Bonomolo, and Desiree Medina closed out their regular season home careers at Northwood High School with an exciting victory over Cummings who had beaten the varsity girls earlier in the week.

Rashmi Vanhook scored 19 points, 15 in the second half, to go along with 6 rebounds, 2 steals, and 1 blocked shot. Casey Norris also scored in double figures as she added 15 points, a team high 8 rebounds, a team high four assists, and two steals. Samantha Perry provided the Lady Chargers with a spark off the bench with 9 points, including two big 3 pointers in the fourth quarter, to go along with her 6 rebounds. Shelby Wolfe relentlessly attacked the basket throughout the game collecting 7 points, 2 assists, 2 steals, and 4 rebounds.

Kapreshia Covington closed out her Senior Night with perhaps the perfect ending as she hit a three pointer as time expired, one of two three pointers she hit on the night. Yancy Luft also scored 7 points, while Olivia Oakley collected 7 rebounds and blocked a team high 3 shots.
