Asheboro, NC - In Friday night's season opener against Jordan-Matthews, the Southwestern Randolph Cougars' junior quarterback Ethan Marsh found Tyler Hasty in the end zone two minutes in for the first score of the game.

Southwestern Randolph didn't reach the end zone again, losing 21-6 to the Jets.

Jordan-Matthews had touchdown plays of 65, 49 and 67 yards, while the Cougars managed only 87 yards of total offense.

The Jets fumbled the football three times, but stayed stingy on defense, stopping Southwestern Randolph on first-and-goal on the 8-yard line. The closest the Cougars would get was the 4.

Jets quarterback Derek Brown passed three times during the game, completing two for 92 yards.

Henry Mason had five rushes for 75 yards and two touchdowns, while Eric Smith rushed for 69 yards on seven carries and scored a TD.
