[Jan. 24, 2011] The Woods Charter High School boy's basketball team lost in an exciting match against CCAL rival Franklin Academy last Friday, January 14. The boys were down by ten in the fourth quarter, but managed to come back and tie the game with a couple of pressure free throws from sophomore Eric Tapp, sending it into overtime. Franklin took a two point lead in the final minute of overtime and won the game 52-48. By Dori Dupre DeJong

[Dec. 7, 2010] The Wolves basketball team has been busy. On December 1, the boys headed to Emerson Waldorf, where they won 52-35. Senior Preston Ferguson led all scorers with 23 points, followed by senior Mike Galin with eight points. Senior Justyn Cyriaque had six points, including his first dunk, and junior Osman Sbaiti also chipped in with six.

[Dec. 1, 2010] The Woods Charter School men's and ladies' basketball teams won their home basketball games on Monday, November 29. The men’s basketball team played against Southern Wake Academy of Holly Springs, soundly defeating the upstart program 69-25. Several non starters and younger players got good playing time in this game.

[Nov. 7, 2010] The first round of the 2010 North Carolina high school football playoffs has been set for Friday, November 12. All three local Chatham County high schools will be participating. In the division 2AA play, No. 15 S. Granville (5-5) will play at No. 2 Pittsboro Northwood (7-3). In division 2A, No. 12 Jordan-Matthews (7-3) will play at No. 7 Thomasville (9-1). in 1AA, No. 13 Chatham Central (3-7) will play at No. 5 Hobbton (6-4).
 
Northwood High School Athletic Booster Club kicks off the 2010-2011 school year
[Aug. 20, 2010] The Northwood High School Athletic Booster Club is excited about the 2010-2011 school year and anticipate another successful year for all of our players and teams. It has already been a busy summer for our school. The fall sports have been practicing hard and some will start playing games this week. If you have been on campus recently, you may have noticed significant work being done on the Soccer field. The Booster Club has been successful in securing funding to correct some major drainage issues, and expand the playing surface to a regulation size field. We will then begin working on securing grant money to add lights, bleachers and restrooms so we can hold games and the field can become a facility our kids can be proud of. By Bob Wynne

[May 12, 2010] The Lady Chargers opened state play on Tuesday with an 11-0 win over Bunn High School. Annie Cleaver and Casey Norris each scored a hat trick with three goals a piece.
