Northwood football moves to 2-0 with win at Western Harnett, 14-6
[Aug. 31, 2009] Junior cornerback Tra Chandler intercepted a pass inside Charger territory with under two minutes remaining to seal a 14-6 victory for the visiting Chargers in the rain at Western Harnett High School on Friday night. The win improves the Chargers to 2-0 on the season with a trip to cross-county rival Jordan Matthews coming up this Friday night. By Brent J Cooper

Northwood starts football season with a 24-0 shut out of East Chapel Hill
[Aug. 24, 2009] Pittsboro, NC - The Northwood varsity football team started its season strong Friday night with a 24-0 shut out of 4A East Chapel Hill at NHS on Friday night. [Aug. 22, 2009] The Northwood Chargers opened their 2009 season at home on Friday against East Chapel Hill at Charger Stadium. Chapel Hill transfer Shane Peppers led the Chargers to a 24-0 victory with 17 carries for 96 yards and three touchdowns. By Gene Galin

[May 29, 2009] The Northwood High School varsity softball team's season came to an end last night with a 4-0 loss to highly ranked West Stokes here at NHS. Carrie Webster pitched a complete game and allowed no runs after the first inning. However, the Lady Chargers' bats were not able to overcome a 4-0 deficit after one inning of play. [May 8, 2009] The Northwood varsity softball team defeated Carrboro 24-0 Thursday night to clinch the Mid State 2A Conference title for the second consecutive year. The Lady Chargers will play at home Monday evening in the first round of the Mid State Conference Tournament.
