Northwood boys' cross country team dominated the Chatham County meet Monday, securing the top five finishers on its way to a 38-point victory.

Taylor Adams took the top spot with a time of 17:52. He was followed by four other Chargers: Jacobi Eaves, Jordan Ait, Ryan Brumfield and Nate Hilton, who all recorded times under 19 minutes.

Chargers took the rest of the top 10, with the exception of Kyle Scott (sixth) and James Wall (eigth) from Chatham Central.

The meet, held on Northwood's 3.02-mile home course, featured both boys' and girls' teams from all three Chatham high schools. It was the first meet of the season for all three teams.

On the girls' side, Chatham Central narrowly beat Northwood by a two-point margin. The Bears' Jessica McIntyre bested teammate Ashlyn McIntyre for the top spot with a time of 23:52, followed by Chargers Julia Wood and Claire Fahrbach. Laura Gaines of Chatham Central rounded out the top five.
