Chatham Central Bears to play in state baseball championship

Bear Creek, NC - The schedules have been set for the 90th annual edition of the North Carolina High School Athletic Association's state baseball championship series. The Chatham Central Bears (25-6) are scheduled to begin play against Raleigh West Columbus on Friday, June 2nd at 5 p.m.

Two of the series, including the 1-A and 4-A championships, will be played at Doak Field on the campus of North Carolina State University in Raleigh. The 2-A and 3-A championship series are scheduled for First Horizon Park in Greensboro. All of the series are best of three games.

Here are the schedules:

CLASS 1-A: DOAK FIELD, NORTH CAROLINA STATE UNIVERSITY, RALEIGH WEST COLUMBUS (26-3) vs. CHATHAM CENTRAL (25-6)
Game 1: Friday, June 2 at 5 pm.; Game 2: Saturday, June 3 at 11 am.; Game 3: if necessary, Saturday, June 3 at 5 pm

CLASS 2-A: FIRST HORIZON PARK, GREENSBORO NORTH LENOIR (28-2) vs. EAST BEND FORBUSH (27-4)
Game 1: Friday, June 2, 5 pm; Game 2: Saturday, June 3 at 11 am; Game 3: if necessary, Saturday, June 3 at 5 pm

CLASS 3-A: FIRST HORIZON PARK, GREENSBORO GREENVILLE D.H. CONLEY (22-6) vs. JAMESTOWN RAGSDALE (28-3)
Game 1: Friday, June 2, 8 pm.; Game 2: Saturday, June 3, 2 pm; Game 3: if necessary, Saturday, June 3 at 7:30 pm (5 pm if no third game in 2-A)

CLASS 4-A: DOAK FIELD, NORTH CAROLINA STATE UNIVERSITY, RALEIGH SCOTLAND (27-2) vs. SOUTH CALDWELL (29-4)
Game 1: Friday, June 2 at 8 p.m.; Game 2: Saturday, June 3 at 2 pm; Game 3: if necessary, Saturday, June 3 at 7:30 pm (5 pm if no third game in 1-A)
