Deacons to honor former greats in new game day tradition
Winston-Salem, NC - Wake Forest Athletics is excited to announce a new tradition that will be a part of the game day experience at BB&T Field. Beginning at Saturday's football home opener, Wake Forest will welcome back a special honored guest for each home game who will "Open The Gate" and lead the team onto BB&T Field.

The honored guest will not only "Open The Gate" but they will take part in the Friday night team meal, participate in team meetings and ride the team bus to BB&T Field. Athletic Director Ron Wellman said, "We are excited about this football season, and the start of this new tradition. This will be a great opportunity to showcase the people who make Wake Forest University special."
The first "Open the Gate" honoree will be at this Saturday's home opener against Ole Miss. Game time is 3:30 p.m. and fans are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy the pre-game festivities, including the first honoree to ever "Open The Gate."
A limited number of tickets are still available through the Wake Forest Ticket Office at 336-758-3322 or online at www.WakeForestSports.com
