Wake Forest 21, Army 10
Pre-Game
Wake Forest's game captains were seniors S Aaron Mason and TE John Tereshinski.
Sophomore Brandon Ghee started at cornerback, his first career start.
First Quarter
Stanley Arnoux's interception was the second of his career
Kenny Moore's 55-yard punt return for a touchdown was the first by Wake Forest since Alphonso Smith went 16 yards vs. North Carolina on Oct. 28, 2006 (Smith's was a blocked punt)
Moore's punt return touchdown was Wake Forest's third non-offensive touchdown of the year
The last non-blocked punt returned for a touchdown was 50 yards by Willie Idlette vs. NC State on Sept. 6, 2003
Josh Adams scored his first career touchdown on a 10-yard run with 6:16 to play in the first quarter
Sam Swank's 64-yard punt was his longest of the season
Second Quarter
Lucas Caparelli carried for the first time in his career
Delon Lowe carried the ball from scrimmage for the first time in his career (loss of five)
Wake Forest suffered its first fumble of the season
Aaron Curry's 84-yard interception return for a touchdown was the fourth-longest interception return in school history.
Curry's return was WFU's fourth non-offensive touchdown of the year.
Curry's return is the longest in the ACC this season and is longer than any interception return in the ACC in 2006.
Third Quarter
Zach Stukes recovered his second fumble of the season and his second in the last two games.
Wake Forest did not throw an incomplete pass until the final minute of the third quarter.
Brett Hodges completed his first seven passes of the game.
Fourth Quarter
Sam Swank had a 43-yard punt downed at the Army two-yard line. Chip Vaughn was the Deacon who downed the punt.
Notes
Josh Adams posted career-highs for carries (nine), yards (64) and touchdowns (one)
Jeremy Thompson tied his career-high with two sacks (also had two vs. Boston College, 2007)
Sam Swank was one shy of his career-high in punts (eight punts vs. Virginia Tech, 2006)
Five of Sam Swank's seven punts landed inside the 20-yard line. That total includes a 64-yard punt and a 43-yard punt that was downed at the two-yard line
The two teams combined for six turnovers. Army recovered three Wake Forest fumbles, while the Deacons had two interceptions (one for a touchdown) and a fumble recovery
Army finished with more first downs (13-11), more total yards (256-213) and a longer time of possession (31:06-28:54)
