Greensboro, NC - North Carolina and Wake Forest will be one of five Atlantic Coast Conference football teams Notre Dame is obligated to play in the first year of a partnership starting in 2014.

The Tar Heels and Demon Deacons will travel to South Bend, Ind., to play the Fighting Irish that season on dates yet to be announced.

ACC newcomer Louisville will also play in South Bend, while Florida State and another newcomer, Syracuse, will play home games against Notre Dame.

Duke and N.C. State will have to wait until 2016 to get a shot at the Fighting Irish. The Blue Devils will play at South Bend that season, while the Wolfpack gets a home date.

As part of the agreement to join the ACC in all other sports, Notre Dame will play five ACC teams each year, alternating between three home games and two away, and two home games and three away each year. Notre Dame will face every ACC team at least once in the first three-year rotation of games.

Current ACC teams have played Notre Dame 118 times, while the addition of Pittsburgh and Syracuse, which join the ACC on July 1, will increase that figure to 192 games.

Virginia Tech and Louisville will be meeting Notre Dame in football for the first time.

Here is the schedule:

2014 - Notre Dame at Florida State (FSU leads series, 5-2-0); Louisville at Notre Dame (first meeting); NORTH CAROLINA at Notre Dame (Notre Dame leads, 16-2); Notre Dame at Syracuse (Series tied, 3-3); WAKE FOREST at Notre Dame (Notre Dame leads, 2-0).
