Tar Heels sign Ty'son Williams to a football scholarship agreement

Chapel Hill, NC - The University of North Carolina has signed a scholarship agreement with running back Ty’son Williams of Sumter, South Carolina. Williams will enroll in January, 2015, upon completion of his high school degree. Williams attends Crestwood High School. He is ranked the No. 23 running back in the country and the No. 3 player in South Carolina by 247sports.com. Last season, he rushed for 1,608 yards and 16 touchdowns on 181 carries.

Member of the ESPN300 as the No. 135 player in the country • Considered the top player in South Carolina by ESPN as well as the No. 11 running back nationally • Rushed 181 times for 1,608 yards and 16 touchdowns as a junior in 2013 • Also gained 1,008 yards on the ground and scored 17 touchdowns as a sophomore • Played for Keith Crolley at Crestwood High School for the first two years • Now coached by Roosevelt Nelson • Helped lead the Knights to a 9-4 record and a AAA playoff victory in 2013.
