UNC's quarterbacks shine in spring showcase[Mar. 28, 2009] North Carolina's trio of quarterbacks - T.J. Yates, Mike Paulus and Braden Hanson - combined to complete 23 of 30 attempts for 202 yards and a touchdown in Carolina's Spring Showcase Saturday afternoon at Kenan Stadium. The Tar Heels' 68-play scrimmage was highlighted by a 46-yard completion from Yates to sophomore Dwight Jones at the 1-yard line.
RFK Stadium set to host inaugural EagleBank Bowl this Saturday[Dec. 18, 2008] Great tradition. Great days. Exciting plays. Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium celebrates another great day and kicks off a new tradition when the stadium hosts the inaugural EagleBank Bowl on Saturday, December 20th, the first-ever bowl game in the Nation’s Capital. The Wake Forest University Demon Deacons take on the Midshipmen of the United States Naval Academy in the historic matchup.
2008 All-ACC football teams announced[Dec. 1, 2008] Four Atlantic Division schools - Boston College, Florida State, Maryland and Wake Forest - had three players selected by the 67 voting members of ACSMA. Clemson, Virginia and North Carolina landed two players apiece on the All-ACC team.
ACC Football This Week - Week 3[Sep. 13, 2008] Week three of the Road to Tampa Bay features unbeaten Georgia Tech, traveling to Virginia Tech for an important Coastal Division contest in a game that will be regionally-televised by ABC (3:30 pm). The Jackets, led by the sophtandem of QB Josh Nesbitt and B-Back Jonathan Dwyer, are coming off a victory in the first ACC game of the year, a 19-16 decision at Boston College. The Hokies are led by QBs Sean Glennon and Tyrod Taylor. Taylor rushed for 112 yards in a 24-7 win over Furman.
ACC by the numbers - Week 3[Sep. 13, 2008] This week's ACC by the numbers. Clemson free safety Michael Hamlin is tied for 2nd nationally in pass interceptions after picking off three aerials last week against The Citadel. Hamlin is also tied for the ACC lead in tackles, averaging 11.5 a game.
Atlantic Coast Conference football team notes[Sep. 13, 2008] The Seminoles opened the year in impressive fashion, scoring 69 points against Western Carolina, the most points for an FSU football team in 13 seasons since scoring 72 against Wake Forest in 1995.
Atlantic Coast Conference football team notes[Sep. 6, 2008] QB Riley Skinner completed 27 of 36 passes for 220 yards and 3 TDs in WakeForest’s 41-13 season-opening victory over Baylor. Skinner is currently the most accurate passer in ACC history, having completed 434 of 622 passes in his career, a .698 percentage.
