Deacons get set for home opener against I-AA Aggies[Sep. 16, 2004] After two road games to open the 2004 season, Wake Forest finally returns to Groves Stadium to play its home opener on Saturday against North Carolina A&T at 6:30 p.m. Wake Forest is fresh off its first victory of the season, a 31-17 win at East Carolina. The contest will serve as the ACC opener for both squads, and kickoff is scheduled for 12 noon at Lane Stadium and will be televised by Jefferson-Pilot Sports. The Blue Devils stand at 0-2 after falling at Connecticut, 22-20, last Saturday while the Hokies are 1-1 following a 63-0 home victory over Western Michigan.

Jacksonville to host ACC football title game in 2005 and 2006[Aug. 19, 2004] Atlantic Coast Conference Commissioner John Swofford announced today that Jacksonville, Fla., has been selected to host the ACC football title game in 2005 and 2006, with a two-year option for 2007 and 2008. The inaugural ACC championship football game will be played in ALLTEL Stadium on Saturday, December 3, 2005.
