WFU's Jim Grobe meets the press to preview the Clemson game[Sep. 28, 2005] Wake Forest football head coach Jim Grobe met with the media to review the Maryland game and to preview the Clemson game. Stanley Arnoux, Aaron Curry, Alphonso Smith and Steve Vallos also visited with the media on Tuesday morning.
ACC Football This Week - 9/24/05[Sep. 23, 2005] In this the fourth most played series in ACC history, North Carolina and NC State will square-off on the gridiron for the 95th time in the JP/Raycom ACC Game of the Week. Duke travels to Scott Stadium on Saturday to face Virginia in a game slated to kickoff at 3:30 pm. Wake Forest welcomes Maryland to Groves Stadium for a 3:30 pm kickoff

Carolina at NC State game notes[Sep. 23, 2005] One of NC State's first victories in Carter-Finley Stadium was against North Carolina, 13-7, in the season opener of 1967, Chuck Amato's senior campaign. The stadium had opened midway through the 1966 season. Since then, NC State has gone 7-11 against the Heels in Carter-Finley, but has posted a 149-79-6 overall record on its home field.
Wake Forest welcomes Maryland to Groves Stadium[Sep. 23, 2005] Wake Forest welcomes Maryland to Groves Stadium on Saturday for its ACC opener and the first ever Atlantic Division game for the Demon Deacons. Wake Forest and Maryland are both looking to get back to .500 and in a position to make a run at a bowl game.
Duke adds Alabama to its 2006 football schedule[Sep. 22, 2005] Duke has added Alabama to its list of non-conference football opponents for the 2006 campaign, and the Blue Devils will travel to Tuscaloosa to meet the Crimson Tide on Saturday, October 7.
ACC Football This Week - 9/17/05[Sep. 16, 2005] The Wolfpack return to action Saturday hosting Ohio Valley foe Eastern Kentucky. the Blue Devils will play the second of three straight games against teams from the Commonwealth of Virginia when they host VMI. East Carolina travels to Winston-Salem to take on Wake Forest at Groves Stadium. North Carolina and Wisconsin will face-off for just the second time on the gridiron in a game shown nationally on ESPN2 at 7:00 pm

N.C. State unveils $39 million Vaughn Towers[Sep. 15, 2005] It's certainly a big change from the much smaller facilities that served Riddick Stadium or the two-story press box that sat over the second deck of the west grandstands from the time Carter Stadium was opened in 1966 until it was torn down following the 2003 season. The four-level Vaughn Towers provide 955 club seats in the Curtis and Jacqueline Dail Club Seating and has 51 suites for corporate entertainment.

Wake Forest returns to Groves Stadium to play East Carolina[Sep. 15, 2005] Wake Forest returns to Groves Stadium this week to play East Carolina where the Demon Deacons look to avoid their first 0-3 start since the 2000 season. Wake Forest and ECU are familiar rivals. The schools have met on the gridiron in each of the past four seasons and the Deacons have won all four meetings.
WFU's Ryan Plackemeier named to Ray Guy Award watch list[Sep. 13, 2005] The Greater Augusta Sports Council named Wake Forest senior punter Ryan Plackemeier to the 2005 Ray Guy Award watch list as a candidate for the top collegiate punter of the year. Plackemeier is on the list for the third straight season and joins 40 other college football punters on the 2005 watch list.
Carolina at NC State football showdown at noon[Sep. 12, 2005] When North Carolina and NC State renew their longstanding football rivalry at Carter-Finley Stadium on Saturday, September 24th, the game will begin at 12 noon. The Atlantic Coast Conference announced on Saturday that the contest will be part of a split TV package offered by the ACC Raycom-Jefferson Pilot television network.
Trestman brings NFL experience to NC State[Sep. 12, 2005] If Marc Trestman's track record is indicative of things to come, NC State's offense could be in for a heck of a 2005 season. The Wolfpack's new offensive coordinator, Trestman has spent 21 years in coaching, almost all of it as either a quarterbacks coach and/or offensive coordinator, mostly in the National Football League. Trestman has overseen some prolific offenses, and some of the game's greatest players have had their best seasons in Trestman's presence.
