[Aug. 7, 2007] For the seventh consecutive season, NC State has sold out its season football tickets. A record number 38,200 season tickets have been sold for the 2007 campaign, up 200 from 2006.

[Aug. 6, 2007] Duke head football coach Ted Roof announced on Sunday that junior linebacker Michael Tauiliili has been suspended indefinitely from the program for violation of team policies. Tauiliili was arrested Saturday on charges including driving while impaired, failing to stop after an accident, assault by pointing a gun (an air pistol), carrying a concealed weapon (a knife) and simple assault.

[Aug. 6, 2007] Members of the Duke football program are anxious to hit the practice field. The Blue Devils – guided by head coach Ted Roof – return 43 lettermen and 18 starters from a season ago. Fall practice begins today with the season-opener scheduled for Saturday, September 1 against Connecticut at 2 p.m. in Wallace Wade Stadium.

[Jul. 26, 2007] Boston College senior quarterback Matt Ryan has been selected as the Pre-Season ACC Football Player of the Year in voting by media attending the annual ACC Football Kickoff at Pinehurst earlier this week. Two area ACC schools had players on the team.

[Jul. 25, 2007] NC State head football coach Tom O’Brien has announced that senior tight end Anthony Hill underwent reconstructive knee surgery on Wednesday and will be forced to miss the 2007 season. During a diagnostic arthroscopic procedure this morning, orthopedic surgeon Mike Fajgenbaum discovered that Hill had a damaged anterior cruciate ligament and went on to perform the reconstruction.

[Jul. 23, 2007] The defending ACC champions were on display Sunday on the first day of the ACC Football Kickoff held at the Pinehurst Golf Resort. Seniors Steve Justice and Jeremy Thompson represented the Demon Deacons, as the two talked with a horde of media members from the across the country.

[Apr. 20, 2007] Last season, the NCAA wanted to speed up football games. Next season, it wants more plays. The rules oversight panel approved two major timing changes that would revert the rules to what they were in 2005 -- stopping the clock on possession changes and not starting it on kickoffs until the receiving team touches the ball.

[Apr. 15, 2007] An estimated crowd of over 14,000 Wolfpack fans came to Carter-Finley stadium on Saturday afternoon to see the Red and White teams face off in the annual spring game. They watched the Red team win by a 35-31 score thanks to a couple of late touchdown passes from Daniel Evans to Darrell Blackman.

[Apr. 13, 2007] North Carolina will hold its first Spring Football Game under head coach Butch Davis on Saturday, April 14 at 12 noon. For fans, this will be your first chance to see Davis in action at Kenan Stadium and get a behind-the-scenes look at Carolina's preparations for the 2007 season. The game will combine elements of a practice and a game and will last approximately 90 minutes. Gates open at 10 a.m. and the team warmups begin at 11:30 a.m. A Fans Zone will take place in the East endzone at 10 a.m.
