First round of the 2007 North Carolina high school football playoffs are set to go[Nov. 6, 2007] The North Carolina High School Athletic Association released it's pairings for the first round of the 2007 North Carolina high school football playoffs that start this Friday, November 9. Chatham County has two high school teams in the state football playoffs this year: Pittsboro's Northwood Chargers and the Siler City Jordan-Matthews Jets.
Wake Forest football back in AP Top 25[Oct. 29, 2007] The Wake Forest football team returned to the Associated Press Top 25 on Sunday, Oct. 28, checking in at number 21. The Deacons are 6-2 on the season after Saturday’s 37-10 win over North Carolina. Wake Forest has won six straight games and will play at Virginia on Nov. 3.
Jon Abbate story to become motion picture[Oct. 14, 2007] The film screenplay to the highly inspirational sports story - The Jon and Luke Abbate Story - has been written by Rick Bieber, who will direct the independent feature in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Driven by the tragic and fatal car crash that took the life of his fifteen year old brother Luke, and wearing Luke's number 5 jersey, Jon Abbate helps to lead the Wake Forest Demon Deacons to the most successful season in school history, and an appearance in the Orange Bowl.
North Carolina's future football schedules[Oct. 5, 2007] Below is an outline of North Carolina's future football schedules. However, every game and date are subject to change. Please be advised that the ACC, along with its TV partners, does not release the football schedule for that year until late January or the first of February. For example, the 2008 football schedule will not be released until Feb. 1, 2008.

Navy beats Duke with last second field goal, 46-43[Sep. 22, 2007] Despite a 428-yard, four-touchdown passing day from quarterback Thaddeus Lewis, Duke fell at Navy, 46-43, on Saturday afternoon as 31,278 fans looked on at Navy-Marine Corps Stadium in Annapolis, Md. The game-winning points came on a 44-yard field goal by Navy’s Joey Bullen as time expired.
Wake Forest vs. Maryland football postgame notes[Sep. 22, 2007] Wake Forest's Riley Skinner touchdown pass tied the game up with three seconds left in regulation. Josh Adams scored on a 6-yard run on the first possession of overtime to help the Demon Deacons beat the Maryland Terrapins 31-24 on Saturday.
