DURHAM, N.C. -- Duke's season-opening football game scheduled for Saturday, September 3 at East Carolina will kick off at 1 p.m. The game, which will be played at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium in Greenville, was originally set for 7 p.m.

The Duke-East Carolina contest will be televised live by the College Sports Television Network (CSTV).

The Blue Devils and Pirates have met nine times on the gridiron, with Duke holding a 5-4 series advantage. The two schools last met on August 31, 2002 in Durham, with the Blue Devils posting a 23-16 victory.

Following the tilt at East Carolina, Duke will play its 2005 home opener on September 10 against defending ACC champion Virginia Tech at Wallace Wade Stadium.
