BCS Tiebreaker Procedures

THE GAME: In a series dating back to 1953, the two newest members of the ACC will face-off on the gridiron as Miami welcomes Virgina Tech to the Orange Bowl on Saturday afternoon. The Hurricanes own a 15-6-0 lifetime mark against the Hokies, including a 9-2 mark at home. Miami had won three straight prior to Virginia Tech's victory in Blacksburg last season. The Hokies have won six of the last nine contests with the Hurricanes riding a two-game win streak on their home turf.

LAST TIME OUT: Last year, Virginia Tech posted a 31-7 win in Blacksburg thanks to a Hokie defense which accounted for the first two TDs of the game. DeAngelo Hall returned a fumble 28 yards and an interception return of 51 yards by Eric Green gave the Hokies all the points they would need in the win. The Hurricanes held the advantage in first downs, total yards and time of possession despite the loss.
