Durham, NC - Duke's Tony McDevitt has been named one of 10 finalists for the 2007 Lowe's Senior Class award, which will be awarded annually to an NCAA Division I men's senior lacrosse student-athlete who excels both on and off the playing field.

The 10 finalists will be placed on the Lowe’s Senior Class Award ballot for a nationwide vote beginning April 24 and concluding May 15. Fan balloting, available on the award’s official Web site, www.seniorclassaward.com, will be combined with votes from coaches, media and sponsors to determine the recipient of the award.

A native of Philadelphia, Pa., McDevitt is a three-year starter on defense for the Blue Devils who earned All-ACC and USILA Second Team All-America honors in 2005. He has played in 50 career games, starting 40, while recording one goal, one assist and 124 ground balls. A three-time ACC Academic Honor Roll selection, McDevitt has helped Duke to a 34-7 overall ledger over the past three seasons.

McDevitt is joined on the list by Mitch Belisle (Cornell), Nick Bonacci (Dartmouth), Adam Crystal (Drexel), John Dunn (Colgate), Eric Heidenberger (Villanova), Zachary Jungers (Princeton), Matt McMonagle (Cornell), Greg Rommel (Syracuse) and Drew Thompson (Virginia).

The award winner will be announced and presented with his trophy during the semifinals of the 2007 NCAA Championships (May 26) in Baltimore, Md. The Lowe’s All-Senior All-America Team will also be recognized.
