The freshman earns conference honors for the second time in three weeks.
Chapel Hill, NC - North Carolina's Kristen Taylor was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week after helping the No. 2-ranked Tar Heels to consecutive wins over seventh-ranked Georgetown (8-6) and ACC opponent Boston College (14-4) last week.
The freshman came off the bench to lead all scorers in a pair of UNC wins last weekend. She scored three goals in the come-from-behind win over No. 7 Georgetown on Friday night, including the game-tying goal in the second half. North Carolina trailed 5-1 midway through the first half before the Tar Heels went on a 4-0 scoring run to tie the game at 5-5. Taylor scored three of those four goals during the game-tying run.
Taylor came off the bench and scored four goals in Sunday's win over Boston College, tallying two goals from the field and going two-for-three in free position opportunities. Taylor scored three consecutive goals to begin the second half, giving UNC an 11-1 lead.The Manlius, N.Y. native, leads the Tar Heels with 24 goals in just 11 games this season. Carolina will return to action next weekend in State College, Pa., at the ACC/American Lacrosse Conference Challenge. UNC will play host Penn State on Friday night and Ohio State on Sunday afternoon.
