Each month two Wolfpack Scholar athletes are selected as a member of the Caterpillar Scholar Athlete team. To be named to the Caterpillar Scholar Athlete team, a student-athlete must maintain a 3.00 GPA for at least one semester and be a full-time student at NC State.

During the Spring 2003 semester 210 Wolfpack Student Athletes achieved a semester GPA of 3.00 or higher and 107 student-athletes were Dean's List honorees.

This month Caterpillar and NC State are proud to honor football's Eric Taylor and cross country's Ginger Wheeler.

Eric Taylor is a reshirt freshman on the NC State Football team. Since coming to campus from Goldston, North Carolina, Eric has put up impressive numbers in the classroom. He carries a 3.87 Total Grade Point Average in Computer Engineering. Eric's also been on the Dean's List in seven of his eight semesters on campus and has also been named to the ACC Honor Roll.

Ginger Wheeler is a veteran of the NC State Women's Cross Country team. The sophomore from Winston-Salem, North Carolina has compiled a 3.82 Total Grade Point Average in her Materials Engineering major. She's also been named to the ACC Honor Roll and has been on the Dean's List every semester she's attended NC State.
