Semifinals Set for 2014 ACC Men’s Soccer Championship

Cary, NC – The field is set for the semifinals of the 2014 Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Soccer Championship, with the quarterfinals taking place Sunday afternoon.

Sunday’s action at the campus sites of the higher seeded teams saw No. 1 Notre Dame defeat No. 8 Virginia, 3-0, No. 2 Syracuse downing No. 7 Duke, 2-0, No. 6 Louisville edging No. 3 North Carolina, 1-0, and No. 4 Clemson drawing with No. 5 Wake Forest, 1-1, with the Tigers advancing 3-2 in penalty kicks.

The tournament now moves to WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C., which will be the host site for the semifinals and finals for the 10th time.

Friday’s semifinals feature top-seeded Notre Dame against No. 4 Clemson at 5:30 p.m. followed by No. 2 Syracuse against No. 6 Louisville at 8 p.m., with both games on ESPN3.

The winners advance to Sunday’s 2 p.m. championship match, which will be broadcast nationally by ESPNU.

Single session tickets are available for $10 for adults and $5 for youth and seniors.
