Wolfpack students and fans invited to "party" with a cause
For the 7th consecutive year, the ACTION committee at NC State will host a FREE big screen viewing party for all alumni, staff, friends and students.
Join fellow Wolfpack fans in Reynolds Coliseum on Wednesday, January 28 for the NC State - UNC game on a giant 16 x 20 big screen. The game will tip at 7, but all fans are encouraged to arrive early to ensure a good seat. This is the seventh installment of a popular campus tradition. Crowds have been well over 1500 people each year. All fans are encouraged to join the party, and community groups are welcome.
Admission to the event is free, as the ACTION Committee (Advocating Choices Through Increased Options Now) has secured corporate and university sponsors. The ACTION Committee has planned the event as a way to encourage students and fans to make good choices about alcohol, tobacco, drugs and sex.
Attendees will be treated to a "game like atmosphere" featuring numerous door prizes, local celebrities, the NC State pep band, mascots, cheerleaders and dance team. Additionally, Lin Dawson, former NC State and New England Patriots great will be on hand to greet the crowd and talk about his life experiences. Students will register to compete in a hot shots contest for a mountain bike package valued at over $500.
The grand door prize open to all attendees will be 2 round trip tickets in the continental U.S. courtesy of Wolfpack Sports Marketing.
