[Feb. 3, 2007] Saturday’s meeting will mark the 209th between NC State and North Carolina in the series that dates back to the 1912-13 season. The Wolfpack has faced just two other teams, Duke and Wake Forest, more times than the Tar Heels. UNC holds a 134-74 lead in the series and has won 22 of the last 30 meetings between the teams.

[Jun. 29, 2006] Shelden Williams and J.J. Redick were each selected in the first round of Wednesday’s NBA Draft, becoming the 37th and 38th players selected in the draft under head coach Mike Krzyzewski. Williams was chosen by the Atlanta Hawks with the fifth pick in the draft, while Redick was taken 11th overall by the Orlando Magic.

[Jun. 28, 2006] Duke All-American guard J.J. Redick has been taken by the Orlando Magic with the eleventh overall selection in the 2006 NBA draft Wednesday night. The 6-foot-4 Redick is considered the best shooter in the draft. He set an NCAA record for career 3-pointers made (457) while becoming Duke's all-time scoring leader.

[Jun. 28, 2006] The 6-9 Cedric Simmons, who will play power forward/center in the NBA, had a lifelong dream come true when the New Orleans Hornets made him the 15th pick in the 2006 NBA Draft. The Hornets chose Simmons as their first pick in the draft. After averaging 11.8 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks as a sophomore with the NC State Wolfpack, Simmons announced that he would enter the 2006 NBA draft.
