UNC versus NC State game notes[Feb. 3, 2007] The North Carolina men’s basketball team will begin February and close out the first half of its Atlantic Coast Conference schedule with a road date at NC State on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. in the RBC Center in Raleigh. The game will be televised
by ABC.

NCSU women's basketball coach Kay Yow to take leave of absence[Nov. 22, 2006] NC State Director of Athletics Lee Fowler and Head Women's Basketball Coach Kay Yow announced jointly that Yow willbe taking a leave of absence from her coaching duties for an indefinite period of time. Associate head coach Stephanie Glance will serve as interim coach during this period.
Duke's Shelden Williams taken in first round of the NBA draft[Jun. 29, 2006] Shelden Williams and J.J. Redick were each selected in the first round of Wednesday’s NBA Draft, becoming the 37th and 38th players selected in the draft under head coach Mike Krzyzewski. Williams was chosen by the Atlanta Hawks with the fifth pick in the draft, while Redick was taken 11th overall by the Orlando Magic.

Duke's J.J. Redick taken by Orlando as 11th pick[Jun. 28, 2006] Duke All-American guard J.J. Redick has been taken by the Orlando Magic with the eleventh overall selection in the 2006 NBA draft Wednesday night. The 6-foot-4 Redick is considered the best shooter in the draft. He set an NCAA record for career 3-pointers made (457) while becoming Duke's all-time scoring leader.

Notes on Duke's 74-61 win over George Washington[Mar. 18, 2006] Duke defeated George Washington 74-61 Saturday in the NCAA Tournament second round to advance to the Sweet 16 for an NCAA-best ninth consecutive season. Duke will take on the winner of today’s LSU vs. Texas A&M match-up on Thursday, March 23, at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.
Bennerman leads Wolfpack past Cal, 58-52[Mar. 17, 2006] Cameron Bennerman hit two huge shots down the stretch, including the game-winning 3-pointer with 32 seconds left, to lead the No. 10 seed NC State past No. 7 seed California, 58-52.
Notes on Duke's 70-54 win over Southern[Mar. 17, 2006] With its 70-54 win over Southern, Duke will face No. 8 seed and No. 14 ranked George Washington in the second round Saturday at 1:10 p.m. ET on CBS. Duke and George Washington have split equally the 26 games in the series history but the two have played just one game since 1956, a 103-73 win on Dec. 6, 1994, in Durham, N.C.
WFU Deacons in postseason play for 16th consecutive year[Mar. 13, 2006] Wake Forest, which made an impressive run to the ACC Tournament semifinals last week, will participate in postseason play for the 16th consecutive year when the Demon Deacons begin play in the National Invitation Tournament this week. The Deacons, 17-16, will play at Minnesota Wednesday night.
