Archie Miller, one of the top three-point shooters in NC State history, has been named the Director of Basketball Operations on Herb Sendek's staff. Miller will replace Kenya Hunter, who left to take a assistant's position under Miller's brother Sean, a former Wolfpack assistant who was recently named the head coach at Xavier.

"I'm very excited to come back to the place where it all started for me," said Miller, who spent last season as an assistant coach at Western Kentucky. "I'm really looking forward to working with Coach Sendek and the staff that I played for."

"I really appreciate the opportunity that Coach Horn gave me at Western Kentucky. It is a special place and I will miss the great people I worked with."

Miller captained the 2001-02 Wolfpack squad that advanced to the second-round of the NCAA Tournament. He was a first-team All-ACC Tournament performer that season, leading the Pack to the finals. He ranks in the top-10 in ACC history (sixth in school history) in three-point shooting with a .428 mark and second among all-time Wolfpack players in free throw accuracy with a .846 mark.

For his career, Miller played in 122 games, starting 51. He started nine games as a freshman in 1997-98 before being sidelined with a back injury in the next season.

"We're all really glad to welcome Arch back," said Sendek. "He was a coach on the floor for us during his playing career and no doubt has a bright future in college basketball."
