Durham, NC - J.J. Redick scored 28 points and hit all 10 of his free throws, as top-ranked Duke remained unbeaten by using a stifling defense late in the second half to post an 81-68 victory over No. 14 North Carolina State at Cameron Indoor Stadium.

Shelden Williams tallied 21 points, nine rebounds, five steals and four blocked shots for the Blue Devils (17-0, 5-0 ACC), who tied their 1992 national championship team for the best start in school history. Lee Melchionni added 12 points and Sean Dockery scored 10, with the two hitting consecutive three-pointers during a critical juncture with less than five minutes remaining, in the win.

The Blue Devils remained one of three unbeaten teams left in Division I, joining Florida and Pittsburgh.

Williams became Duke's all-time leader in blocked shots. He has 348. Mike Gminski held the old mark with 345.

Sean Dockery's 3 broke a 65-all tie and when he missed a free throw for a potential four-point play, he grabbed the rebound and found Melchionni for another 3 for the Blue Devils

Duke, which finished the game on a 19-4 run, held the Wolfpack (14-3, 3-2) without a field goal over the final 6:12. Duke closed this game with a 16-3 run. Earlier this month, the Wolfpack saw North Carolina score the final 13 points to win.

Cedric Simmons scored a career-high 28 points, had nine rebounds and seven blocked shots for North Carolina State.
