Raleigh, NC - No. 15 N.C. State’s home season ended Saturday with a 74-72 double overtime loss to No. 11 Boston College before an RBC Center crowd of 19,287.

With 1:33 left in regulation, the Wolfpack (21-7, 10-5) lead by a point, 67-66, off an Engin Atsur drive high off the glass. Craig Smith, who would finish with an 18-point, 14-rebound double-double and six assists, hit a free throw for a 67-67 tie with 49.3 seconds left after front-rimming his first attempt.

BC's Sean Marshall’s three-point play at the start of the second overtime marked the only scoring by Boston College (22-6, 9-5 ACC) over the last five minutes.

N.C. State had two chances in the waning seconds, but BC's Sean Williams swatted away a 3-pointer by Engin Atsur. Then Atsur lofted an off-balanced air ball right before the buzzer.

Marshall finished with 22 points, while Craig Smith had 18 points, 14 rebounds and six assists for the Eagles (22-6, 9-5 Atlantic Coast Conference). Ilian Evtimov led the Wolfpack (21-7, 10-5) with 16 points.

The victory enabled the Eagles to remain in the hunt for the No. 2 seed in the ACC tournament March 9-12 in Greensboro, N.C.
