Pittsboro, NC - The Northwood High School Varsity Baseball team defeated Cedar Ridge Wednesday night 5-2 to improve to 4-0 overall, 2-0 in the Mid State 2A Conference.
Kyle Hackney picked up the win, improving to 2-0 on the season. Clay Martin recorded the save. The Chargers scored two in the bottom of the first on a single by Zach Groves, he stole second, and then scored on an RBI double by Dalton Stone. Matt Wade's Sacrifice Fly scored Stone to account for the second Charger run.
In the sixth, the Chargers added two more runs on a lead off pinch-hit single by Cameron Goodwin and a RBI triple by Zach Groves. Austin Brice also scored in the sixth inning.
