Northwood JV baseball team defeats Cardinal Gibbons

Pittsboro, NC - The Northwood JV baseball team defeated Cardinal Gibbons on Thursday 6-5 when Trevor Ahkuoi scored on a wild pitch after walking, and stealing second base in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Evan Dixon was the winning pitcher as he pitched five and one third innings as he gave up only two runs, four hits, and struck out eight. Dixon was 2 for 2 from the plate with two singles, a walk, and one run scored. Conner Lawrence came on in relief in the bottom of the sixth and worked his way out of a jam to collect the save. Lawrence had a two run single and a team high three RBIs on the day.

Andrew Jones and Jacobi Harris had two hits on the day. Harris also stole two bases on the afternoon. Ethan Stubbs, Matt Gould, and Dalton Brown each had one hit on the afternoon.

The Varsity Baseball lost at Cardinal Gibbons on Thursday afternoon 11-7.
