[Apr. 22, 2009] Bennett Davis homered twice and drove in three runs to lead Elon to an 8-7 win over Duke Wednesday evening at Latham Park. Davis blasted a two-run shot in the second inning that tied the game and then connected on the second of back-to-back homers in the bottom of the seventh. His solo shot in the seventh turned out to be the game-winner, as Elon closer Thomas Girdwood stifled a late Duke rally by stranding three base runners to earn his 10th save of the season.
 
Northwood baseball defeats NCSSM, 13-3
[Mar. 26, 2009] The Northwood varsity baseball team defeated the North Carolina School of Science and Math 13-3 in six innings Tuesday night at Northwood. After trailing 3-0 after one inning, the Charger bats slowly awakened throughout the rest of the game, led by Zach Groves who went 2 for 2 at the plate with a two run home run in the second inning to go along with his first inning single, three runs, and two stolen bases.
