North Carolina defeats Virginia Tech to advance to ACC Baseball Championship pool play[May 19, 2015]
After struggling through the final two weeks of the regular season, eighth-seeded North Carolina hoped to turn things back around during the 2015 Atlantic Coast Conference Baseball Championship. The Tar Heels took a step in that direction on Tuesday, and now have at least three more tournament games to try to make it happen. UNC used a solid starting outing by Zac Gallen and strong relief work by Trevor Kelley to turn back ninth-seeded Virginia Tech, 5-3, in Tuesday’s second play-in game at Durham Bulls Athletic Park.
2015 #ACCBase Championship pairings and game times set[May 19, 2015]
Pairings and game times have been set for the 2015 Atlantic Coast Conference Baseball Championship, which gets underway Tuesday at Durham Bulls Athletic Park in Durham, North Carolina. Louisville (42-14, 25-5 ACC) earned the No. 1 overall seed and will head up Pool A. The Cardinals will be joined by fourth-seeded Florida State (37-19, 17-13) and fifth-seeded Clemson (31-25, 16-13 ACC), while No. 8 North Carolina (32-22, 13-16) and No. 9 Virginia Tech (27-26, 13-16) will play Tuesday to join the pool.
North Brunswick defeats Northwood to win 2-A east baseball title[May 28, 2013]
North Brunswick defeated Northwood 10-5 on Monday night in game three of a best of three series in Pittsboro to secure the NCHSAA 2-A east title. North Brunswick will begin play on Friday against Piedmont High School in the 2-A state championship baseball series.
Tickets for ACC Baseball Championship now on sale[May 12, 2013]
Single-game tickets for all 13 games of the 2013 Atlantic Coast Conference Baseball Championship are now on sale. The eight-team tournament will be played Wednesday, May 22 through Sunday, May 26 at Durham Bulls Athletic Park.The round-robin, pool play tournament will feature three games on Wednesday through Saturday at 11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. The championship game on Sunday (May 26) is set for a 1 p.m. start.
Brackets are announced for the 2011 Atlantic Coast Conference Baseball Championship[May 22, 2011]
Complete pairings and starting times have been announced for the 2011 Atlantic Coast Conference Baseball Championship, which will be held Wednesday through next Sunday (May 25-29) at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. As the No. 1 overall seed, Coastal Division co-champion Virginia (22-8 ACC) will be placed atop Division A for the second straight year and will be joined by No. 4 North Carolina (20-10), No. 5 Miami (19-10) and No. 8 Wake Forest (15-15).

Single-game tickets to the 2011 Atlantic Coast Conference Baseball Championship, scheduled for May 25-29 at Durham Bulls Athletic Park in Durham, N.C.., will go on sale Friday, March 4 at 9 a.m. Three games of round-robin pool play are slated for Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, with game times set for 11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. The championship game on Sunday, May 29, will begin at 1 p.m.
Elon holds on for 8-7 win over Duke[Apr. 22, 2009]
Bennett Davis homered twice and drove in three runs to lead Elon to an 8-7 win over Duke Wednesday evening at Latham Park. Davis blasted a two-run shot in the second inning that tied the game and then connected on the second of back-to-back homers in the bottom of the seventh. His solo shot in the seventh turned out to be the game-winner, as Elon closer Thomas Girdwood stifled a late Duke rally by stranding three base runners to earn his 10th save of the season.
Northwood baseball defeats NCSSM, 13-3[Mar. 26, 2009]
The Northwood varsity baseball team defeated the North Carolina School of Science and Math 13-3 in six innings Tuesday night at Northwood. After trailing 3-0 after one inning, the Charger bats slowly awakened throughout the rest of the game, led by Zach Groves who went 2 for 2 at the plate with a two run home run in the second inning to go along with his first inning single, three runs, and two stolen bases.

The Northwood JV baseball team defeated Cardinal Gibbons on Thursday 6-5 when Trevor Ahkuoi scored on a wild pitch after walking, and stealing second base in the bottom of the seventh inning.
