March 6, 2006: Board of Commissioners Work Session
- Budget presentation by the Chatham County Child Development Center
- Resolution to proceed with sale of Business Campus Land to Chatham Hospital (FYI – The new official name for our commercial land behind Wal-Mart in Siler City is – Central Carolina Business Campus
- Presentation of NC Horse Council laying out issues and concerns in planning and design of the Chatham section of the American Tobacco Trail.

Consent Agenda – approved 5-0
- Citizens request for naming private roads in Chatham County: Burnette Mountain Lane, James Road, Add Road, Rocky Road, and Mikayla Lane
- FY 2005-06 budget amendments
- Haw River Trail memorandum of understanding
- Mowing services contract for public building properties and water utilities properties
- Department of Social Services mediation services contract with Deep River mediation
- Debt write-off for Central Permitting department
Public Input Session
Planning and Zoning
- Discussion regarding a second public hearing on the Copeland restaurant proposal (Big Woods Rd and US 64 East). Will continue on 20 March at BOC.
Boards and Committees
- Commissioner Outz nominated Bill Lowery to the Mid-Carolina Workforce Development Board. Approved 5-0, pending a check for special requirements
- Commissioner Barnes deferred his nomination to the Recreation Advisory Board for March 20th BOC
- I nominated Ms. Mary Linker for reappointment to the Child Fatality Prevention Team. Approved 5-0
Commissioner Reports
- I reported on the Town of Pittsboro Resolution supporting the efforts of the Chatham County Affordable Housing Task Force and by consensus received the go-ahead for Mrs. Powell of Habitat for Humanity to contact the property owners along E. Cornwallis St.
