Pittsboro, NC - Having volunteered with a variety of organizations and causes for the past 2 years, helping others usually is the theme during the year-end holiday season. What about the remaining year, though? There are ample opportunities to volunteer that help a multitude of others.

For me it’s about meeting new people and feel compassionate that I am able to touch there life in some way.

People volunteer simply because they are compassionate and put themselves into “other's shoes”. This is the makings of a true volunteer. Compassion of helping and caring for others.

I volunteered last year for Council on Aging Spa Day, it was awesome meeting different ones and seeing the smiles from those gorgeously painted manicures.

The feeling I got from just a little bit of my time is indescribable.

Mona Hanner and Lindsay Straughn from the Council on Aging is two great ladies from COA that I have had the pleasure of working with.

I thank them for there help in putting together the Spa day last year and the Christmas Parade. Great minds put together does wonders plus, its fun to have different ideas and talent. For God gave each of us a special talent.

I have also given gift certificates to many non profits to raffle off. To help there organizational needs. Animal Shelters, Rape Crisis, Boy Scouts, Churches, Chatham Academy School, plus many more.

So volunteer today bring a smile to someone else.
