Pittsboro, NC - I have never had such a hard time deciding whom to vote for as I have had with this Board of Commissioners election. I guess that is good for me because who ever wins supports many of the same priorities I have for Chatham county. I have been forced to weigh the negatives for the election.
One of the most troubling aspects to this race is the loss of voting for an individual vs a ticket. And it concerns me that a future "PAC coalition" will exist between three members of our BOC if the Chatham Coalition ticket wins.
Electing the Chatham Coalition ticket continues and increases the political divisions in Chatham. Rural Chatham's negative perception of the Chatham Coalition will build walls not compromise.
Finally, there is no one I respect more or feel more indebted to than Larry Hicks and David LeGrys. For years and thousands of hours, these two individuals have worked tirelessly to move this county forward. David and Larry are the campaign managers for Cross and Barnes.
