School computers should not all be Apples

Siler City, NC - I found this week's article about laptops for students in the Chatham News to be interesting. I applaud the school board's effort to equip every child with a laptop. The only concern I have is that the machines are Apples. For all of you fruit lovers I have nothing against Apples. I am just concerned that we are not preparing our children properly for the business world. The majority of businesses right now are Windows based. While this may not be the case when the first graders of today reach the business world we can only assume Microsoft will still be a major player in the computer software business.

I would like to see a mixture of computers including Linux. We need to expose our children to different technologies to properly prepare them for their earning years.
