Pem worked hard for Siler City and for Chatham County

Chatham County, NC - I was saddened to see the passing of Pem Hobbs. I had worked with Pem along with others on the Strategic Plan Development Committee (SPDC), the citizen/government group that formulated the now adopted County Strategic Plan, the basis for the adopted Land Conservation and Development Plan.

Pem represented Siler City in this endeavor, and recognized that the success of Siler City, indeed the entire County, was dependent upon a collective vision for the future, and a meaningful collaboration between the county, municipalities, and citizens in accomplishing this vision. I am hopeful that, sooner rather than later, the County as a whole will recognize what Pem knew years ago ... that to succeed requires commitment, heart, and dedication to ideals greater than each of us.

Pem worked hard for Siler City and for Chatham County, and proved that citizens can make a difference. We should all have that commitment. We should all hold that vision.
