Is having a Northwood prom in Sanford a good idea?

Pittsboro, NC - Northwood High School has decided to hold it's prom in Sanford. In the past it's been in Durham and most recently at Fearrington. Fearrington was deemed too expensive at $70 ticket, which included food, favors, venue, and DJ - basically the works.

Today a funeral will be held at Northwood for three students killed in an accident caused by inexperienced driving. So lets put our prom goers (more inexperienced drivers) on the road to Sanford, late at night and in some cases not exactly sober. Yes, we all know that happens at prom.

Why can't the prom stay somewhere in Chatham? Because there is no place that suits everyone?

I don't understand the train of thought behind it this. To save some money we move the prom to Sanford. At what cost? Let's hope all arrive home safe from that one. I won't be worrying about that because mine will not attend. I'm sad for them, but sadder that a closer, better venue cannot be found.

Thanks Fearrington for the years you worked hard to make this happen, at a price that I think was more than fair.
